The role of men in Burlesque is not just in the audience.  As performers in Burlesque, Vaudeville and Cabaret, men traditionally played comedic or musical roles. In modern times, as the boundaries and "rules" of gender roles have been demolished, men's role in the Burlesque genre are just like everything else:  anything goes.  There are many all male Burlesque troupes performing today.
